Michael Bublé Wraps Up US Tour In Style

Michael completed his 45-date 2008 US tour, performing in front of an enthusiastic audience at the Honda Center, Anaheim, CA on Saturday night.

This series of shows end the American leg of his highly successful 'Call Me Irresponsible' World Tour, having performed to sell-out audiences across the United States.

Following a short break and a performance at the David Foster and Friends Tribute at Mandalay Bay Resort, Las Vegas, NV on May 23, Michael's next stop will be Australia, where he resumes his popular World Tour in Canberra on May 28.

Australia was the first country to embrace Michael's collection of jazz standards and swinging versions of contemporary songs, sending his self-titled debut to No.1 in May 2004. The love affair continued for his second album and his most recent effort, 'Call Me Irresponsible', was the highest-selling album in Australia last year.

Michael Bublé Dominates Billboard Charts

Michael holds the top two spots on Billboard's Top Jazz chart this week. His smash-hit album "Call Me Irresponsible", continued its stranglehold on the No. 1 position of Billboard's Top Jazz Album chart, 53 weeks since its release.

Michael's latest EP release, "A Taste of Bublé" went straight to second place in its debut week. The exclusive Wal-Mart effort also made the Top 50 of Billboard's Top 200 Album chart.

Meanwhile, his hit single "Lost" held the No.3 spot on Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart this week. "Lost", the second single released from his chart-topping album, "Call Me Irresponsible", is following in the footsteps of the album's first single "Everything" which went to No. 1 in several countries.

Michael Bublé Plans More Originals

Michael Bublé travels to Australia later this month for a long awaited tour.

Ahead of his return Down Under, Michael has told Australian media that there will be more original songs to come on his next album, having teamed up with songwriter Kara DioGuardi, as well as his regular collaborators.

"For the most part I am taking these songs and conceptually giving them a brand-new life and feel. That takes a lot of work and inspiration as well as beautiful arrangements and great production and musicianship. Let's say I cover a song like That's Life or Wonderful Tonight. The second it comes out, people compare it. Is it as good as Sinatra's version or Clapton's version or Dean Martin's version or (Bobby) Darin's version or (Ella) Fitzgerald's version or (Mel) Torme's version? To make your version stand out it had better be interesting and have some originality. With one of my original songs -- who the hell are they going to compare it to?"

Hear the World Ambassadors Photo Exhibit

Famed musician and official photographer of the Hear the World initiative, Bryan Adams has introduced his photography collection of Hear the World Ambassadors who include Michael Bublé to the public in an interactive exhibit to celebrate the beginning of Better Hearing and Speech Month.

Hear the World is a global initiative raising awareness about the importance of good hearing and the impact of hearing loss.

The exhibit is open free to the public until May 15 in New York's Meatpacking District at 413-415 W. 14th Street, before travelling to Berlin for public viewing from May 30.

Michael Bublé Wins JUNO Fan Choice Award

Michael won the Doritos JUNO Fan Choice Award at Sunday night's 2008 JUNO Awards held in Calgary, AB.

It was Michael's sixth JUNO Award since 2004 and his fourth prize this year, following his Grammy win for "Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album" in February and last month's two Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards for "Male Vocalist of the Year" and "Best Original Composition".

Michael surprised us with his hilarious acceptance speech for the JUNO Fan Choice Award. Before announcing "This is for all those people who said I couldn't vote for myself enough times to win," Michael thanked the category's sponsor, Doritos, "for making such tasty treats," adding "sometimes when I eat them, my fingers, they go orange, but it's worth it!" The hilarity continued in the press room, where he told reporters, "I do love Doritos. I just learned when you're eating them, you should never watch dirty movies or anything like that. It's true, I thought there was something really wrong with me, but it was just the Doritos."

Promoter Paul Dainty explained that public demand for Michael, one of the best-selling artists in the world, led him to squeeze another show into his schedule.

Michael is extremely popular Down Under, his current record "Call Me Irresponsible" entered the charts at No.1 and was the biggest selling album released by any artist in Australia in 2007.

Michael achieved his first number one album anywhere in the world when his 2003 self-titled set, hit top spot on the Australian album chart in May 2004.

When Crooner Meets Country

Nashville's own Blake Shelton attended the Michael Bublé show at the Sommet Center in Nashville on Wednesday night (March 12) knowing he was going to finally get to meet Michael, who wrote and originally sang Blake’s current single “Home.” But what he didn’t expect was Michael inviting him to come on stage and sing. The invite was entirely unplanned and unrehearsed – making the moment even more magical. After Michael introduced Blake with humbling comments, they sat on stools and traded lines of the song, both belting out smooth, rich vocals. The crowd responded with a standing ovation – the first of the evening.

“I was so excited to finally get to meet Michael. He’s a great guy, really funny and easy to get to know,” said Blake. “When he invited me to sing with him I was truly honored and a little nervous since we didn’t rehearse. But it was an awesome experience.”
